Frequently Asked Questions
QUESTION: I live on Ridgeview. How do I participate?
ANSWER: Simply hold a yard sale at your home on one or both event days. We advertise a start/end time, but your yard sale is completely independent. You can open and close your sale according to your own preferences. Just put a sign in your yard or balloons on your mailbox or whatever you want to do to attract attention to your yard sale, then wait for the customers to show up. Please use the "Contact Us" page to let us know that you are participating.
QUESTION: What if I live nearby, but not actually ON Ridgeview Road? Can I participate?
ANSWER: Nearby neighbors are encouraged to join us. Simply post signs on Ridgeview directing customers to your sale. Please use the "Contact Us" page to let us know that you are participating.
QUESTION: I don't live nearby, but I'd like to participate. Do you have any space available for me to bring my stuff and sell it?
ANSWER: Maybe. Sometimes a church or some other individual will have space in their parking lot available. Use the "Contact Us" form to inquire about this possibility.
QUESTION: Why do I need to sign up?
ANSWER: We advertise the sale as including 10, 50 or 100 participants, depending on how many sign up. The bigger the sale, the more customers we will attract. Also, it helps with sign placement if we know where the sales are located. Finally, if we have your contact info, we can keep you informed about any last-minute developments.
QUESTION: Am I obligated to participate if I sign up?
ANSWER: No. We understand that your plans may change.
QUESTION: How much does it cost to participate as a seller?
ANSWER: Nothing. But you have to post your own signs (not just in front of your house). You need to place all the necessary signs to direct customers to your sale--same as you would if you were the only one having a yard sale.
QUESTION: Is there a Rain Date?
ANSWER: No. Not usually, but if rain is in the forecast, please check our Facebook page for last minute news. Since it's a two-day event, we're hoping for at least one clear day. Unfortunately, when rain is in the forecast (even if it's not actually raining), seller participation is considerably lower; but in the past, sellers who have participated on overcast, cold or rainy days have reported very strong sales and excellent customer traffic, regardless of weather conditions.
QUESTION: Do you have an email list to notify me about future sales?
ANSWER: Yes. You can use the "Contact Us" form to provide us with your contact info.
QUESTION: What if my question isn't answered here?
ANSWER: We welcome your questions through the "Contact Us" form.
